i'm a indie-pop recording artist from sacramento, ca.

Twenty four years ago, I was born in the late afternoon in Paradise, CA, a stone's thrown drive up the side of the canyon by Chico to my mother. She was nineteen, in love with my father and newly married. She loved to sing and to write poetry, and as I was born the skies outside burned brilliantly in vivid color, painterly thrown across the horizon. She had meant to name me Autumn Rose, but loved the day so much that she changed it at the last minute. I have been Autumn Sky ever since.

i have forty-three freckles, of which i routinely recount. i despise being badly kissed and only do it when i mean it. one day, i saw the sky, and i've never been able to walk the earth the same way again. my heart is in the clouds, my eyes are to the stars.

i wrote my first song at six years old.
fooool-of-a-took asked: when writing a song, do you usually start with the words (or general theme), or the music? and if you start putting words to existing music, and it turns out bad, do you scrap the whole thing or just the words? and conversely, if you have lyrics do you just keep trying different sounds until one feels right? i get easily discouraged (o_o)

I usually start with a feeling or a theme. The theme gives me a better idea of what to do with the music, and then when the music and theme is down it’s way easier to write the words. At least for me! :)
